Day 131: Keeping it short and sweet - still ill

RUN: 1.2 miles

Well it turns out that prancing about in the cold and wet was not a good idea, as I suspected, and I am extra full of cold today.
So just a short run out on a new path I found that makes up a 1.2 mile loop from home. (I don't think this is a new path - I'm sure plenty of people knew about it before today's discovery by me.) Pretty handy.

Path: 'new' . Mud and puddles: standard.

Day 130: Feeling ill but making an effort

RUN: 4.1 miles

I woke up feeling pretty ropey this morning, but luckily I'd arranged a run with my friend Amy, which gave me the motivation I needed to get up and out.

It started raining half way round - it's possibly not the best thing for someone coming down with a cold to be prancing about in the cold and wet, but what can you do when you're two miles from home wearing a few thin layers and the heavens open?

It was quite a tough run out, actually, being a morning trip and not feeling 100 per cent, so a good sense of achievement today. Here's the run.

Day 129: Liverpool here we come!

RUN: 1.2 miles

Today boyfriend Andy and I officially signed up for the Liverpool Half Marathon on March 17.
I love Liverpool, so really looking forward to it - apart from the running bit!
Only joking, it will be a good run and good training in the run-up to the Edinburgh Marathon at the end of May.
Here's a little video to celebrate the signing up - it's about a man running the Liverpool Half Marathon for the National Autistic Society in a gorilla suit - I certainly won't be doing the gorilla suit part!

This is today's run

Day 128: Quick pre-Halloween jog

RUN: 1.4 miles

A bit of family visiting tonight pushed the running down the priority list, so I ended up doing a quick jog quite late. I was feeling very hungry and a bit low on energy, so hurried along to be back in time for tea.

I'm working late for the rest of the week, so the next three will be morning runs. Quite glad I won'tbe running round in the dark on Halloween tomorrow!

Here's my little trip down to Menston and back

Day 127: Four miles - easy peasy

RUN: 4.1 miles

Quite pleased with tonight's run down to Rawdon and back, which felt quite quick and easy.
I ran at 9m40s per mile, which is good for me, and I didn't feel to be working harder than usual.
I'm always surprised how you can get to the same point on a route you run regularly and feel completely different. I know it's all to do with what I've eaten, levels of tiredness, the weather etc, but it all seems rather random.
I guess there are certain things you can do to try to make sure you feel good, but some days you've got it, some days you haven't.

Here's my run along the A65 tonight

Day 126: St Ives with friends on a soggy Sunday

RUN: 4.8 miles

Despite some rubbish wet weather today, I headed over to the muddy St Ives Estate, Bingley, with my friends Emma and Amy for a nice run with a change of scenery.

The route is quite hilly, up to the moors through the golf course and back down into the park via the lake, with a 230ft climb over a mile, but it's a lovely park and plenty to see along a nice route.

Here's me and Amy jogging alongside Coppice Pond

And here's a tiny little horse - wearing a coat - we met at the St Ives Equestrian Centre!

This is our route from today
