Day 139: Snapped on another four-miler

RUN: 4.1 miles

A good four-mile trip around Menston in the sun today.
On the way home I saw a little lady waving frantically at me from a car window. My friend Jenny took a photo of me as she drove - or was driven - past. This is me (the pink sweaty thing in the background. Hehe!) Thanks Jen!

Day 138: Getting ready to race

RUN: 2.1 miles

A little present in the post today... our Abbey Dash 10K race pack with the number and timing chip etc.
There's nine days to go and I'm quite looking forward to it. Hoping to finish the 6.2-mile course in under an hour, but I won't be too disappointed if I don't. It's the taking part that counts, and all that, and I'm not a speedy girl, but I'll do my very best.

Today I did a two-mile route. Hoping to get a good few miles in this weekend. Here's today's run

Day 137: A healthy four miles

RUN: 4.2 miles

It's been good to get back to a longer run tonight - from Guiseley to Rawdon and back.
Feeling good actually - quite easy going. Pleased to be back on form and clocking up more than just one mile.

Day 136: Almost back to normal

RUN: 1.0 miles

Another one-miler today because I was on quite a tight schedule. Feeling quite a bit better now so I think I'll attempt a longer route tomorrow since my throat and lungs seem to be getting back to normal.
Today I went back to a very short route I haven't done for a few months - the little loop around Tranmere Park that I used to do when I was suffering with shin splints - only now I've got this thick blanket of autumn leaves to wade through.

Day 135: One mile on the road to recovery

RUN: 1.3 miles

Feeling a slightly less poorly today after a better night's sleep on the sofa. Still having coughing fits every so often, so still taking it easy to avoid making it worse - running around in the cold and dark doesn't feel like the wisest idea.

Here's a summary of today's little jog:

Day 134: Tiny trip with the best boyfriend ever

RUN: 1.1 miles

Feeling totally terrible today - so tired after a night of very little sleep.
My bunged-up nose and sinus headaches have transformed into a tickly cough that is particularly bad when I lie down - a recipe for a very bad night's sleep.

Anyway, all I wanted to do today was curl up on the sofa, but no such luck.
I went to work and came home feeling very sorry for myself, so boyfriend Andy stepped in to provide some all-important sympathy and much-needed motivation, and came out with me for a one-miler.

Andy puts up with a lot - Me skipping off for runs when I've hardly seen him all week; eating at about 9pm every evening having waited for me to finish work, run a few miles and faff about get a bath; and having to shovel me out of the door to go running when it's the last thing I feel like doing. On top of all that, he is sponsoring me every 100 miles I run.

Here he is after finishing yesterday's Survival of the Fittest challenge

Thank you for being such a lovely, encouraging, patient, kind, supportive and generous man. Love you lots!

Day 133: Jogging out, feeling rotten

RUN: 1.2 miles

Another short one again today, unfortunately. This cold is still getting the better of me, so just a quick scoot down the new path. Quite slow going, too, not helped by the fact that all the Guiseley FC football-goers decided to turn my route into a car park.

Also today, boyfriend Andy and friends Donna and Tim did the Men's Health Survival of the Fittest 10K assault course. Great efforts by all - rather them than me crawling through the smelly mud, swimming in a Manchester canal and climbing over 8ft walls in the freezing cold. Well done, guys!
